Annie Duke might not have captured her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until two thousand and four but Annie remains one of the most feared poker competitors around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP win came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While players from the "younger generation" of poker run amok following a huge win at the tables, Annie heads home to be "mum" to her 4 children. She was born in NH and grew up in a family of card players. If you don’t believe that, observe her brother, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught her the best method to compete in poker.
However, Annie Duke is no small change girl and has won her share of challenging tables, including eliminating Howard along the way on several occasions.
Winning over three million dollars in tournament play, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to build up his techniques and become a power player in poker.
You might just notice Annie at the Bellagio, you will see her on the television and you may even play against her in a net poker match, but don’t count on an easy win. Unless you are a up and coming master, you’ll not defeat her. However, it would be cool to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
