Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old ancestry. Built on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the east with the wild west in a wonderful game for starting gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player vs. the casino, unlike nearly all other poker games that players wager with other gamblers. By playing against the dealer, starting players don’t have to fret about any other, more advanced players taking their money.
Another Pai Gow edge is the generally slow game pace, beginners can take their time and plan without having to make frenzied decisions.
It is also simpler to wager on for an extended time with basically a tiny bit of money after all, to lose, both of your hands needs to be lower than each of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the dealer is dealt seven cards faces hidden.
One 5 card hand and a 2 card hand have to be made from the seven cards, the 5 card hand has to be better than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the dealer’s.
