Internet poker has become world famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years many types on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the house rather than each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the croupier saying "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards each. After you have observed your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you must in turn make a call bet or give up. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original ante, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your wager goes instantly to the casino. After the bet is the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, including an amount equal to the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The dealer pays cash even with your original bet and set odds on your call wager. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- two to one for two pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
