Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve last poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus won a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest gamblers around the world. While competing in net poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Gus usually buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all in. I believe Gus is an excellent poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless he is flat broke, he has no reason to sit at the table with the min buy in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amt.. I believe tv can skew our perception of the real world at times. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be seen playing net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in high stakes Omaha and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in money rounds?
