Web poker has become world famous lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the casino instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no concealment or different types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the dealer declares "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the different players receive five cards each. After you have seen your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you have to in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s value is akin to your original ante, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes immediately to the bank. After the bet comes the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, including a sum in accordance with the ante. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The house pays out cash even with your ante and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
